Rock stars.. You personal brand

An inspiring quote for my first post:

"A rock star is not someone who takes the temperature, who gauges the marketplace before he creates his "art".

A rock star is someone who needs to create and is willing to tolerate the haters along with the fans. He’s someone who incites controversy just by existing. That’s what we lost in the dash for cash.

Unique voices.

I’m not saying we haven’t ended up with some pleasant music, but it just hasn’t hit you in the gut, it’s the aural equivalent of Splenda, it might do the trick, but it’s not the real thing.

The real thing grabs your attention, drives down deep into your heart and lodges itself there. A rock star doesn’t follow conventions, doesn’t go disco or add drum machines just because everybody else does.

A rock star exists in his own unique space, and if you met him you probably wouldn’t like him. Because he tends to be self-focused to the point of being narcissistic. Because he cares. He needs to get his message out."

This is a quote from Bob Lefsetz, His blog is really direct and might make some people uncomfortable.

This applies in life as much as it applies in marketing. If you want your brand to be really unique, u can't create ur ads using the marketplace as ur gauge. you gotta create something really unique and if everyone else is telling you to that your ad won't succeed, you gotta judge for yourself and just do it !

What have we lost in the pursuit of cash ? We have lost our unique voice. A voice that each and every brand is supposed to have but in the pursuit to make money, we decided to follow everyone else does. and even if people say you brand sucks you gotta push on and trust that what you are doin in the right thing. Trust you style if its different from the crowd

Till today i remember some people from my childhood days that are just unique in thier own ways. They just had something about the way they did stuff. And yes i remember the remarkable individuals as well the individuals who are clumsy cause they made an impression in my mind. what abt you ? do u remember the boring ppl or do u tend to remember the impressive and dumb ppl ?
Are you the kinda person who follows convention and follows the crowd? or do you create your own path? creating you own story....

Do you wanna still wanna be ordinary or do you want your brand to be great? Like a rock star....
